Amsterdam Acoustics

Amsterdam Acoustics

For years, Amsterdam Acoustics was the definitive pioneer of intimate music sessions in the Low Countries. Inspired by the legendary Take-Away Shows of Vincent Moon’s La Blogothèque in Paris, Amsterdam Acoustics established itself as a true frontrunner in the European music scene. The platform laid the groundwork for a global trend, long before phenomena like NPR’s Tiny Desk Concerts and the Black Cab Sessions captured the mainstream public. With over 6.6 million views on YouTube, the channel became an internationally recognized brand.

What We Are Known For

Our essence was as simple as it was powerful: stripping music down to its absolute core. No sound effects, no massive amplifiers—just high-quality, raw, acoustic live performances captured through cinematic visuals. The city of Amsterdam was never just a backdrop; it was a living character in every video. From hidden canal gardens and historic bridges to intimate hotel rooms, the unique acoustics and atmosphere of the city elevated every single performance.

Intimate Sessions & Offbeat Interviews

Beyond the music, Amsterdam Acoustics stood out for its unique approach to storytelling. Alongside the live sessions, the platform became known for conducting fascinating, beautifully strange, and offbeat interviews. Rather than asking standard promotional questions, these conversations were candid, artistic, and pleasantly unpredictable, offering fans a rare and deeply personal glimpse into the eccentric minds of their favorite creators. Collaborating with World-Class Artists

Over the years, Amsterdam Acoustics built an impressive archive dedicated to pure musical vulnerability. The platform earned the trust of both emerging indie talents and internationally acclaimed superstars. This resulted in several legendary sessions that went viral worldwide:

  • The xx – featuring their iconic and now 1.7 million times viewed live performance of Crystalised.

  • Erlend Øye – one half of the legendary folk duo Kings of Convenience, whose intimate session drew over 485,000 views.

  • William Fitzsimmons – the master of melancholic indie-folk, bringing in more than 165,000 views.

  • Awkward I - We discoverd Dutch talent like Djurre de Haan, now a known artist and musicfilm composer (nominated for two gouden kalveren)

  • Connan Mockasin – who left an unforgettable impression on the platform with his unique brand of psychedelic pop.

Amsterdam Acoustics remains etched in the collective memory of music lovers as the platform that seamlessly connected the soul of the artist, the power of pure acoustics, and the charm of the city.
