Artistic Journeys for body, mind & soul
I'm currently developing artistic journeys for body, mind and soul: experiences where you don't just watch or listen, but you are invited to participate through the senses of your body.
I design a space as a gentle sequence. Nothing is rushed, a journey you move through at your own pace. You are invited to slow down, to notice the small shifts in how you feel.
At the threshold of the space, you are offered a potion: a herbal brew prepared with intention and made from plants chosen for their taste, scent, and the mood they invite. It is a ritual gesture of arrival. As you drink, you slow down, and your senses begin to open.
The potion is part of the space itself. Its aromas return in the room, in the herbs, the materials, and the atmosphere, so that taste, smell, and surroundings tell one story. From there, you are invited to play. You can move, paint, draw, shape material, make sound, or simply be still. Depending on how the space is designed. There is no right way, only your own response to what you feel and how you interact.
This project is currently in a research stage. I'm diving into ancient traditions. I learn from Slavic folklore and shamanic practices, which have carried knowledge about the body, altered states of consciousness, and healing for centuries. As a wiedźma, a Slavic wise woman, I work with ritual, storytelling, and sensory experience. Not to imitate the past, but to explore what this old wisdom can offer us today.
At the same time, I'm exploring how somatics, dance, and creative expression meet in the arts. What happens when movement, color, material, and touch become a language for what words cannot carry? Plants and herbs play a growing role in this, as allies that can influence our state of mind and invite us to feel and perceive differently.
This is work in progress. I research, experiment, and let myself be guided by what the body knows. Want to know more, or move along with this research? Feel free to get in touch or visit during the Kunst10Daagse my atelier at the Maanpaviljoen Ecodorp Bergen to do a first tasting of the magical potions I'm currently composing!
